En 2006, après six ans de construction, le musée du site de Jinsha a finalement été achevé. Couvrant une superficie totale d'environ 38 000 mètres carrés (9 acres), il se compose principalement d'une salle des reliques, d'une salle d'exposition, d'un centre de protection du patrimoine culturel et d'un jardin écologique. Il s'agit d'un site muséal rare parmi les musées chinois en raison de la combinaison de la civilisation moderne et de la civilisation de l'ancien État de Shu (la province du Sichuan s'appelait État de Shu dans l'Antiquité), ainsi que de la combinaison de l'environnement écologique et de la culture. Le musée du site de Jinsha est construit pour protéger, étudier et exposer les découvertes archéologiques du site de Jinsha, découvert par des archéologues en février 2001. Couvrant une superficie d'environ cinq kilomètres carrés (1 236 acres), le site de Jinsha remonte probablement à environ 3 000 ans, soit de la fin de la dynastie Shang (XVIIe au XIe siècle avant notre ère) au début du printemps et de l'automne (770 avant Jésus-Christ à 476 avant notre ère). C'est le cœur de la dynastie Shang et Zhou (XVIIe siècle avant Jésus-Christ) et la deuxième ville ancienne de l'État de Shu découverte uniquement après le musée des piles à trois étoiles. Au total, 63 lieux de sacrifice, 6 000 reliques précieuses, plus de 70 sites de construction et 3 cimetières centralisés ont été découverts ici.

La base de recherche sur l'élevage de pandas géants de Chengdu (ci-après la base des pandas de Chengdu) est une organisation à but non lucratif engagée dans la recherche sur la faune, l'élevage en captivité, l'éducation en matière de conservation et le tourisme éducatif. La base de pandas de Chengdu a été fondée en 1987, avec six pandas géants sauvés de la nature. Aujourd'hui (2008), notre population captive est passée à 83 individus contre seulement six à l'origine. La diversité génétique de la population est soutenue par l'échange de matériel génétique préservé avec d'autres installations. Nous sommes très fiers de ne pas avoir capturé de pandas géants dans la nature depuis 20 ans. Cela témoigne de notre engagement unique et intransigeant en faveur de la conservation de la population sauvage (in situ) et de la croissance saine de la population captive (ex situ). Grâce à nos recherches et à notre engagement en faveur de la santé et du bien-être des animaux, 124 petits pandas géants sont nés dans notre base en 85 portées, 88 ont survécu et nous en avons maintenant 83. Pour aider les autres institutions qui détiennent des pandas géants, nous fournissons un soutien technique et envoyons nos experts pour les aider en matière de soins, d'élevage et de reproduction. Pour que tous les chercheurs sur les pandas géants puissent partager leurs connaissances, nous organisons la réunion technique annuelle sur les pandas géants, qui invite les chercheurs du monde entier à partager des informations afin d'améliorer la gestion en captivité pour la conservation des pandas géants. La base Panda de Chengdu couvre une superficie de 106 hectares et sera étendue à 200 hectares au cours de la troisième phase de notre expansion. Des pandas roux, des singes dorés et d'autres espèces sauvages et/ou menacées y vivent et se reproduisent.
