Since 1981, Blue Note has been a cultural institution in New York City and one of the premiere jazz clubs in the world. Owner and founder Danny Bensusan had a vision to create a jazz club in Greenwich Village that would treat deserving artists with respect, while allowing patrons to see the world’s finest jazz musicians in a close, comfortable setting. Artists who had stopped playing in jazz clubs decades before, such as Sarah Vaughn, Lionel Hampton, Dizzy Gillespie, Stanley Turrentine, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, and Tito Puente, soon called Blue Note home.

Maure (pronounced More) was born out of our love of travel and the thrill of the hunt when it comes to finding the perfect gift. Founded by New York City-based celebrity chef Maureen Cavalieri, her passion for creating unforgettable experiences through food, presentation, and gifting is coming to life in a whole new way with Maure. Inspired by their adventures around the world, the Maure team has partnered with local artisans across the globe and in their own backyard to assemble a collection of the most sublime curiosities. Many are handmade and exclusive to Maure and cannot be found anywhere else. Thoughtfully curated into an array of gift boxes, we promise the recipient will be delighted. Sustainability and ethical employment practices are at the core of our ethos. We believe that all humans deserve to receive a living wage and be treated with respect and kindness. We have gone to great lengths to find the most sustainable partners and practices, from an artist who upcycles her clay to create gorgeous handmade vases to the zero waste wine totes. Where We Meet We typically meet guests at the Ace Hotel located at 20 W 29th Street (midtown Manhattan, 10 blocks south of Times Square). If we are taking guests on a Brooklyn tour, we typically meet them at the Whole Foods upstairs cafe located at 4 Union Square (Manhattan, at 14th Street). At both pre-experience meeting locations you’ll find a cafe and bathroom, which are both convenient before your marathon secondhand shopping day! For larger groups and corporate events, we organize meetings at a private location also conveniently located near midtown and subway access. That address is determined before the tour and space rental is included in booking fees.

Our experience includes collaborations with Destination Toronto, various event planners, and providing staff recognition and corporate gifts for Unity Health, a network of hospitals in Toronto. The foundation of our product line is the renowned artwork of local artist David Crighton, who has been capturing the essence of your city through his memorable images since 1973. We have recently added two new artists to our platform and have plans for continued expansion along the same these for other cities in North America.
