During that time, Julie developed a line of dressings and sauces sold to large retail store chains in Canada and Mexico. In 1989, Julie was a recipient of the 40 Under 40 award. In 2006, Julie was inducted into the BC Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier. Reducing waste begins at the source. Working closely with suppliers to reduce packaging allows us to reduce total waste. Where possible waste products are reused, such as wooden wine crates into shelves, textiles into cleaning cloths, and kitchen oil into candles. Our waste management splits into 16 categories, from Food Waste, Coffee Grounds, Batteries, Lightbulbs, Textiles & more. Today we average an 80% waste diversion rate (or call it recycling rate), reaping both Environmental & Financial benefits.
