One of the largest and most acclaimed professional theatre companies in the Washington, DC metro area, Round House Theatre is led by Producing Artistic Director Ryan Rilette, who joined the company in August 2012. Based in Montgomery County, Maryland, Round House Theatre produces nearly 200 theatrical performances each season at its 400-seat Bethesda theatre and 150-seat black box theatre in downtown Silver Spring. Created by the citizens of Montgomery County, Maryland, the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center is dedicated to artists, educators and audiences of the world. The AFI Silver presents the richness of American and world cinema, exploring all forms of the moving image in the digital era and seeing the screen itself as a source of literacy, learning and vision for the future. AFI is a national institute providing leadership in screen education and the recognition and celebration of excellence in the art of film, television and digital media.

300, it’s bowling – with a twist. What’s the twist? It’s everything entertainment under one roof: state-of-the-art lanes, floor to ceiling video screens, casual-dining and your favorite local hangout with friendly servers asking “how’s that 10-lb ball treating you?”.

The Adventure Park offers family fun for ages 5 and up. This aerial forest adventure is fun, exciting and safe for all participants. We provide a harness and equipment and give you a safety briefing that demonstrates how to climb and zip line in the park. There are 13 separate courses of varying levels of difficulty. Each course has zip lines but primarily consist of “bridges” between tree platforms made of rope, cable and wood configurations creating over 150 unique challenges. You will develop skills, endurance, and confidence during your time in the Park. Trained Adventure Park staff members monitor the Park and are there to assist if needed.

The Maryland SoccerPlex welcomes more than 600,000 visitors a year. The majority of visitors come from the local soccer clubs and leagues that play more than 4,500 matches at the complex annually. However, teams from all over the country come to participate in some of the most competitive youth soccer tournaments in the country.

A Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course is an outdoor experience that provides participants 2-3 hours of outdoor fun and exercise. The result is spectacular. The course allows participants to explore the park from an otherwise unobtainable vantage point while navigating through the treetops using zip lines, obstacles and tarzan swings. We start by equipping participants with harnesses, pulleys and carabiners, give them a 30 minute safety briefing and training and let them loose into the forest canopy, free to fly on zip lines, swing through the trees, and observe the surroundings. Of course, instructors are always on hand, regularly patrolling the forests. The Go Ape Treetop Adventure course gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zones and above all, it’s a great outdoor activity for families, friends and groups.

The Montgomery County Historical Society (MCHS) strives to highlight the role of history as a vital part of the cultural and social fabric of Montgomery County. Montgomery County has experienced significant growth in the past sixty five years and the Montgomery County Historical Society has grown as well. Since its founding in 1944, MCHS has moved from an all volunteer organization to one boasting over 1,400 members, a professional staff and hundreds of supportive and dedicated volunteers.

The Clara Barton National Historic Site, which includes the Clara Barton House, was established in 1974 to interpret the life of Clara Barton, an American pioneer teacher, nurse, and humanitarian who was the founder of the American Red Cross

Sligo Creek Golf Course is a challenging 9-hole course. It is the oldest 9 hole course in the county and sits within the Montgomery County Parks system. Although the terrain is hilly, many golfers enjoy walking this park-like setting golf course. The par 3’s will challenge the best of golfers. The clubhouse features a pro shop and full service snack bar. Sligo Creek Golf Course is conveniently located in the heart of Silver Spring and just inside the Capital Beltway, I-495 off Georgia Avenue.

Rattlewood Golf Course was acquired in 1995 from a private developer. Featuring an 18,000 square-foot clubhouse that was converted from residential use, Rattlewood is eight miles north of Damascus on Penn Shop Road just off I-70 and MD Route 27. The par 72 course is average in length, and challenging. There is an interesting variety of holes offering tempting risk/reward opportunities. Rattlewood’s 9th hole, a lengthy Par 5, with strategically placed bunkers both in the fairway and flanking the green, paves the way for a dog leg finish into our 18,000 square foot clubhouse for your turn stop. Among golfers, Rattlewood has a reputation for being open during wet conditions because it drains very effectively. Rattlewood offers a full length driving range, putting and chipping greens and a full service snack bar along with a fully stocked pro shop.

Poolesville Golf Course stretches over 380 picturesque acres in the lush Potomac Valley of Southwest Montgomery County. Drive less than an hour from the Capitol, or 35 minutes from Northern VA and Rockville, and you will find refuge from the hectic pace of Greater D.C. With two scenic lakes, and almost 7000 yards of championship golf, this course offers generous landing areas, and large rolling greens. Poolesville Golf Course also maintains world-class practice facilities, including a 2-acre short game practice area, and a range with both grass and artificial teeing areas. Poolesville Golf Course is home to several leagues, and we are always looking for fun-loving golfers to join our house leagues, or form a league with friends. Poolesville also offers a very large pavilion to host your company picnic, family reunion or large golf outings. Additionally for your enjoyment we have a baseball field, horseshoe pits, volleyball nets and kids play areas Our staff is considered among the most helpful and friendliest in the state. Golfers who play here once often become regulars. It is our goal to make Poolesville Golf Course “Your Home For All Things Golf.”

Northwest Golf Course, MCG's "2011 Golf Course of the Year" is a 27-hole golf course located within the Montgomery County Parks system. It is a great traditional golf course designed by Ault & Clark in 1964. The beautiful layout is popular with golfers of all abilities with its four sets of tees. The championship tees offer over 7,000 yards of pure golf and is the longest in Montgomery County. Northwest also offers a well-designed full length 9-hole course for a quick round. Northwest's driving range has a total of 41 stalls, all lighted with 20 of them covered and heated, so you can work on your game in comfort in all kinds of weather. Northwest Golf Course provides a fully stocked Pro Shop and full service snack bar with a patio overlooking the golf course. Many different lesson packages are offered by the professional teaching staff throughout the year. Corporate, private and charity golf outings are our specialty with many packages available.

Needwood Golf Course sits within the Montgomery County Parks system and offers an 18 hole course that is challenging, very playable and well conditioned. Needwood also offers a 9 hole “executive course” that is an outstanding layout for the beginner or the experienced golfer looking to sharpen their short game. Our practice area offers a driving range, putting and chipping greens. The clubhouse offers a full service snack bar along with an outside patio that overlooks the first and finishing holes along with a well stocked pro shop for all your golfing needs. Many lesson and clinic programs are available for every skill level of golfer.

Little Bennett Golf Course sits at the north end of Little Bennett Regional Park and offers several scenic views of Sugarloaf Mountain. The course is rather hilly with continuous cart paths and is always in excellent condition. Little Bennett's practice facility features a full grass driving range and three practice greens. The clubhouse has a fully stocked pro shop and snack bar. Little Bennett can accommodate large and small outings and tournaments. Advance reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and holidays. Little Bennett offers many of the services that you would experience at a private country club and has a beautiful southern style wrap around deck with a breathtaking view of the golf course.

From the front door to the fairways, the driveway to the driving range, Laytonsville Golf Course is one of the most fun and friendly courses you'll find. Designed to be player-friendly, the par 71 layout is easily managed by the novice, yet challenging enough for the better player. Superb course conditions, competitive pricing, convenient location and outstanding service also make Laytonsville an excellent choice for tournaments and outings. The course also offers an outstanding practice facility, including a driving range, practice putting and chipping greens, and a bunker to work on your sand play. Relax and cheer on your favorite sports team while watching the game on our new 55" flat-screen TV in the clubhouse grill. The grill provides you with all of your food & beverage needs before, during and after your round.

Hampshire Greens Golf Course is the Montgomery County Revenue Authority’s newest and most spectacular facility which opened to the public in June of 1999. Conveniently located in Silver Spring, Maryland on New Hampshire Avenue, it is only 8 miles from the Capital Beltway and 20 miles from route 70 and 29 north. The course lies within an upscale housing development of the same name.

Falls Road, the most played golf course in the MCG system, was completed in 1961 on 150 acres of former farmland east of the Village of Potomac. The layout offers scenic rolling terrain with 4 sets of tees, generous fairways, and large greens. It has a great mix of holes - the front nine is a parkland type course and the back nine is more tree lined. The course measures slightly more than 6100 yards from the back tees and plays to a par 70. Falls Road provides an enjoyable test of golf for players of all abilities.

Visit this peaceful site on a 52-acre hilltop with woods, specimen trees, and beautiful flower gardens. The temple rises magnificently against the sky, either in the daylight sun or when illuminated at night.

VisArts at Rockville is a dynamic, nonprofit arts center dedicated to engaging the community in the arts and providing opportunities for artistic exploration, education and participation. Through educational programming, gallery exhibitions and a resident artist program, VisArts provides children, teens and adults with opportunities to express their creativity and enhance their awareness of the arts.

The Sandy Spring Museum began when a group of residents noted that the community’s history was being sold off with every passing of a long-time resident. The organization was incorporated in 1981 by volunteers who set up shop in the basement of the Sandy Spring Bank. For many years, they operated out of the bank, exhibiting artifacts in hand-made cases and hosting many lectures on local history. It was this group who started the Strawberry Festival, which has become part of the community’s history itself! The museum set up residence at Tall Timbers in 1986 and celebrated its grand re-opening in 1997 at its permanent location on Bentley Road. The land on which the museum sits was donated by the Bentley Family, whose ancestors moved to Sandy Spring in the late 1700s. In 2007, the museum complex was completed with the addition of a state-of-the-art research library and collections storage facility. The museum, which sits on 7 beautifully landscaped acres, is the heart of the Sandy Spring community.

The National Museum of Health and Medicine was established during the Civil War as the Army Medical Museum, a center for the collection of specimens for research in military medicine and surgery. In 1862, Surgeon General William Hammond directed medical officers in the field to collect "specimens of morbid anatomy together with projectiles and foreign bodies removed" and to forward them to the newly founded museum for study. The Museum's first curator, John Brinton, visited mid-Atlantic battlefields and solicited contributions from doctors throughout the Union Army. During and after the war, Museum staff took pictures of wounded soldiers showing effects of gunshot wounds as well as results of amputations and other surgical procedures. The information collected was compiled into six volumes of The Medical and Surgical History of the War of the Rebellion, published between 1870 and 1883.

The National Capital Trolley Museum preserves and interprets the heritage of electric and interurban railways of Washington, DC and environs for the benefit of present and future generations, while supplementing its collections with significant national and international objects to enhance its interpretive programs.

Brookside Gardens is Montgomery County's incomparable, award-winning 50-acre public display garden situated within Wheaton Regional Park. Included in the gardens are several distinct areas: Aquatic Garden, Azalea Garden, Butterfly Garden, Children's Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Style Garden, Trial Garden, Rain Garden and the Woodland Walk. The Formal Gardens areas include a Perennial Garden, Yew Garden, the Maple Terrace, and Fragrance Garden. Brookside Gardens also feature two conservatories for year-round enjoyment. A horticultural reference library is located in the airy Visitors Center. Admission to the gardens is free.
