Wailua Golf Course offers classic, golden-era seaside golf holes a mere few steps from the Pacific Ocean and is an excellent, walkable layout on Kauai. First built as a 9-hole golf course in the 1930’s, and expanded to 18 holes in 1961, Wailua has hosted 3 USGA Amateur and 3 US Public Links Championships. Regarded as one of the top municipal courses in the country the course was designed by Toyo Shirai and is highlighted by stunning mountain views along the Coconut Coast, and multiple ocean holes – all of which combine for a great golf experience at Wailua.

Kauai is a natural masterpiece. For over six million years, the powers of nature have been sculpting and reshaping Kauai, creating some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Appropriately named the “Garden Isle,” the island of Kauai is draped in lush green valleys, towering sea cliffs, thick jungle vegetation, winding rivers and gorgeous cascading waterfalls. Without a road encircling the island, many of Kauai’s most stunning sights are inaccessible by land. Among these remote scenic attractions is the famous Na Pali coast, spanning 17 miles along Kauai’s North Shore and boasting 3000 ft. sea cliffs and valleys. Then to the Southwest is the Waimea Canyon, coined the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” With so much to explore, a Kauai helicopter tour is truly the only way to experience all of Kauai’s most epic scenery.

Cascading down into a hidden pool, this 151-foot-tall, 40-foot-wide waterfall is easily one of the island's most accessible major waterfalls. Located on the East Side about two miles up Kuamoʻo Road (Route 580) from Hwy. 56, signs clearly point to the roadside lookout on the right. This convenient stop offers visitors a great view from a scenic lookout and access to picnic tables and restrooms. "ʻŌpaekaʻa" means "rolling shrimp," which were once abundant in the stream. Walk uphill from the ʻŌpaekaʻa lookout and across the road for another great view of the Wailua River valley and interior plains beyond.

Fern Grotto is a fern covered, lava rock grotto located on the south fork of the Wailua River, which is on the eastern side of Kauai in the Hawaiian archipelago. Several boat companies give river tours which lead to the grotto
