Navarre Beach Gulf Snorkel Reefs

This project created near shore artificial reefs in Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico off Navarre Beach. Our volunteers continue to inform the public about the economic, environmental, and educational benefits of reef programs and making Navarre Snorkelicious. Near-shore reefs allow people of all skill levels to easily view marine life and ecosystems inhabiting the reefs by traveling only a few hundred feet off-shore. These reef sites offer an easy and inexpensive option to increase your snorkeling and diving abilities or check out a new piece of equipment.
The reefs consist of multiple piling-mounted Eco Systems made in Gulf Shores, AL. Materials are thin concrete discs covered in Florida limestone rock and mounted on environmentally friendly composite pilings which are driven into the seabed. Three to four discs each 5ft in diameter are mounted on each piling and the individual
reef structures are placed 10 – 20 ft apart.

Through the doors of the NBSTCC, guests enter the main pool exhibit featuring a 15,000-gallon saltwater pool, home to Sweet Pea, a non-releasable green sea turtle, and Ambassador-in-Residence of the NBSTCC. Our Story
In late 2008, marine science students held a town hall meeting and led several presentations for the Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners and the SRC School Board about converting an empty, unoccupied ranger station into an environmental center. After overwhelming positive response from the community, students succeeded in obtaining the site in March 2009. Over 2,000 community service hours later the students, under faculty supervision had created what is now the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station.
Since its official opening in August 2009, the Station has been host to well over 4,000 students and community members for programs concerning the local marine environments. The programs provide hands-on, feet-wet curriculum that educates and challenges participants from ages 3-33+ on how to be stewards of our marine meaningful outdoor experiences for all students.

We welcome aboard any and all types of anglers, from those with little fishing experience to professional tournament anglers and everyone in between. There are lots of fish close to shore in our area. No need to spend the day traveling miles and miles to catch them either, we are usually fishing within minutes of leaving the dock.
The Emerald Coast of Florida offers a diverse variety of options while saltwater fishing. This means we are able to use several different methods or types of fishing during your fishing charter. For example, in the early morning hours we may start out throwing top-water plugs and baits targeting large speckled seatrout and then later morning look for cruising redfish on the flats in less than a foot or two of water. We also have several migratory species during different times of the year. These include tarpon, pompano, cobia, jacks, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, bluefish, and many more. You never know what is going to bite in the Gulf of Mexico inshore waters which makes it even more exciting each time you catch a fish!

For more than two decades, The Panhandle Butterfly House & Nature Center has been enjoyed by countless locals, tourists, students, and community groups. Our goal is to enhance the environmental awareness by connecting its visitors with Florida native butterflies, botanical gardens, and nature trails.
Out of nearly 17.500 butterfly species worldwide, Florida is only home to more than 160 butterfly species, while an additional 200 species migrate through the state annually according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Panhandle Butterfly House is committed to exclusively displaying Florida-native butterflies in the vivarium, allowing visitors to learn about the butterflies they may encounter in their backyards and throughout nature. In addition to our live butterflies in the vivarium, we also have a collection containing more than 300 mounted butterflies from all over the world, donated by a local and avid butterfly collector, Dr. Tom Grow.
Furthermore by only including native species, our volunteers and visitors have the opportunity to witness the full butterfly life cycle from laying the eggs to hatching into caterpillars to building their chrysalises and then emerging as adult butterflies. `{`Federal law prohibits breeding at butterfly houses with foreign or exotic butterflies due to risk of escape.`}`

Air Force Armament Museum

Free admission - The Air Force Armament Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated to the collection, preservation and exhibition of artifacts and memorabilia associated with Air Force Armament and its platforms of delivery. There are over 29 different aircraft that have found a home at the Air Force Armament Museum including an AC-130, B-17, B-25, B-52, P-51, A-10, F-15, F-16, F-100, F-101, and many other aircraft from the WWII era to the present. There are also several hundred pieces of armament to include a gun collection, bombs, bomblets and missiles to include the Sparrow, Sidewinder, cluster bombs, Bunker Buster and the MOAB. A 32-minute film on the history of Eglin Air Force Base and its role in the development of armament is shown continuously throughout the day. No advance notice is necessary for groups; however, it is best to call ahead at (850) 882-4062 to insure there are no other functions occurring at the same time. Groups with children under 10 years of age must have one adult for every five to seven children. There is a lot to see and do at the Air Force Armament Museum. If you do not see everything in one visit, there’s always tomorrow and chances are good that we’ll be open.

Chef Daniel journey began in his grandmother’s kitchen, where his passion for fresh, quality ingredients was first sparked. From that day forward, his philosophy has remained simple yet powerful: always start with the freshest ingredients. This belief, shared by Michelin-star chefs worldwide, ensures the best culinary results in every dish.
In 2004, chef Daniel launched Granny’s Golden Oven across from a hospital, offering health-conscious meals that quickly gained popularity among the staff. His dedication to quality earned him a decade-long partnership with the Military, providing nutritious lunches for recruits five days a week.
Eager to expand his horizons, chef Daniel ventured into fine dining, collaborating with top-tier caterers and executive chefs. He later completed his degree in culinary arts, blending tradition with modern innovation—all while staying true to his foundational principle of using the freshest ingredients.

Who we are
Undoubtedly tongue in cheek, the word "Phuc" actually means "blessings and prosperity." Not only is “Phuc” the best word in the UrbanDictionary, but it actually means something positive - Phuc Yea!
In 2011, Phuc Yea opened in downtown Miami as the city's first pop-up concept. Fueled by old school hip hop, graffiti and a love for life, Zapata and Meinhold's rendition of Vietnamese cuisine is deeply inspired by family recipes as well as the flavors of the Mekong, but fused with their personal experiences and cooking styles. The food is distinctly 'theirs', vibrant, bold and layered.
Half Colombian, half Viet, this is not your classic Viet spot. It’s next level Vietnamese; we have created our own style and flow. Phuc Yea’s culinary inspiration is a mash up of Meinhold’s ethnic heritage and Zapata’s culinary background. Ani, as Meinhold is known, is Vietnamese on her mother’s side and many of the classic recipes on the menu stem from family recipes and traditions.

Today, Phuc Yea has matured and found its brick-and-mortar home in the heart of Miami's MiMo district, an historically designated neighborhood famous for its Art Deco architectural style.
Built in the former Sir Williams Hotel, Phuc yea sprawls the first level of the building. The space is separated into three areas, a more sophisticated setting offers a lush lobby lounge anchored by a 15' raw bar just at the main entrance of the space perfectly set for oysters and cocktails, speakeasy-esque dining room with private and semi private dining zones are located in the mezzanine level, and the Lantern Garden during the cooler months is in the rear patio. Decor is a combination of mid-century modern sleekness, street art and traditional Asian accents.
