About us

Fascinating original features and sumptuous furnishings make Macdonald Pittodrie House near Aberdeen a memorable business and events location. Set in a Highland estate in the shadow of Bennachie, just over half an hour’s drive from Aberdeen Airport, it’s just five minutes from Inverurie Station with rail links to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Fraserburgh, Elgin and Peterhead are all within striking distance. OUR FACILITIES Nestled in a sprawling Highland Estate of over 2400 acres, Pittodrie House was first built in 1480 as an L-plan castle. With links to Robert the Bruce – it was gifted as a reward for loyalty during the historic Battle of Bannockburn – it was a family home for centuries and retains fascinating original features like gun loops, stone sinks and gun room. Today it is sumptuously furnished and the ideal backdrop to a memorable conference or AGM. FOUR stunning rooms are available, including the Library which is a favourite of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, the stunning Orangerie with picture postcard views of the gardens – perfectfor a private dinner- the warm Billiard Room and the Ballrrom with its chandeliers and space for 150 guests. Well equipped and comfortable with a range of high tech accessories including free WiFi with extra 100 MBps available, rooms are bathed in natural light with fabulous views. Relax after your meeting with a meal at our 2 AA Rosette winning restaurant The Mither Tap or review the day’s events at our lounge bars before retiring to one of the 27 elegant bedrooms.
