Crested Butte is a 30 minute drive from Gunnison, 90 minutes from Montrose and 4 ½ hours from Denver.

Skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort

Located in the resort base area, Elevation Hotel & Spa is the only ski-in/ski-out hotel in Crested Butte. Our hotel has an on-site full service ski rental shop and complimentary ski valet. Part of the Epic Pass, Crested Butte Mountain Resort features over 1,500 skiable acres including some of the best lift-served extreme terrain in the nation.

Snowmobile Tours

Get a little farther off the beaten path and explore areas it would take hours or days to reach on foot. With a snowmobile, a quick 15-minute ride will get you out exploring the backcountry areas of Crested Butte. Local outfitters offer guided tours daily departing just outside the hotel.

Wildflower Capital of Colorado

Crested Butte is known as the Wildflower Capital of Colorado for good reason. Our high alpine valleys produce a wondrous variety of native species including Lupine, Indian Paintbrush & Mountain Bluebells, which explode in brilliant color every summer. Wildflowers are visible along even the most mellow hiking and biking trails in the valley making their beauty conveniently accessible.

Free Outdoor Summer Concerts

Free outdoor concerts take place mid-June to mid-August on Wednesday evenings just outside the hotel in the resort base area as well as on Monday nights at Crested Butte's Town Park. Each summer offers an exciting lineup of amazing musicians ranging from bluegrass to rock 'n' roll to funk. Local restaurants provide casual food & beverage options at each show.

Historic Downtown Crested Butte

Designated as a National Historic District in 1974, the town of Crested Butte was born out of the gold and silver booms of the late 1800's. Participate in a historical walking tour to learn more about the town's history or find a souvenir at one of the colorful shops lining Elk Avenue. The free local shuttle service leaves the resort base area every 15-20 minutes or it's a quick five minute drive from the hotel.
