Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune) was built between 1563 and 1566 by the Flemish sculptor Giambologna. It is a symbol of the power of the Pope: he ruled the world like Neptune ruled the seas. Wax Museum

The Museum, ex Wax Museum "Luigi Cattaneo" - Museum of anatomy and pathological histology "C. Taruffi", contains a collection of 19th century anatomical wax models by the Florentine modeller Clemente Susini and by Bolognese wax modellers, the most important of whom are Giuseppe Astorri and Cesare Bettini. The historic moment of the Bolognese school was when the teacher of Anatomy began to carry out research into the variations, malformations, teratologics and alterations in shape caused by the various illnesses, as well as creating models in wax relative to the normal morphology. Dried specimens of the case under examination are displayed alongside these wax specimens, extremely useful as teaching aids, together with prints of the original drawings, thus illustrating the modus operandi of the anatomists of the period.

The collection of paintings began in 1796 and had its first nucleus in the works coming from churches and monasteries which were abolished by the Napoleonic administration. In 1808 the collection was moved to the present location, the former St. Ignazio Monastery in via Belle Arti. After Napoleon's fall in 1815 the Picture Gallery got almost all the paintings that were moved from the city to Paris and Milan by the Napoleonic administration. By the middle of the 19th century a lot of important works of art were added to the collection because the religious orders were abolished and the newborn Italian State became the owner of a great quantity of their art treasures.
With the reoganization of the collection the Picture Gallery became one of the most important galleries in Europe, not only as far as the Baroque Bolognese painting is concerned.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. This new way of discovering a city via a walking tour with various challenges is a great way to learn about its history and discover its layout.
Simple And Fun
Each Tourist Scavenger Hunt is around 40 steps, 2-3 hours in duration on a 3-4km circuit which brings you back to the start.
