Hotel Mundal in the fjord is a unique example of a Norwegian hotel tradition from the late 1800s, and we have always seen ourselves in holding on to the authentic and evocative. When you set up in front of the fireplace, it is in deep leather chairs, made by craftsmen in the village for over 100 years ago. The world around has changed in record time. Hotel Mundal in Sogn still has an atmosphere of those rare, with fjords, glaciers and book town as its closest neighbors. Hotel Mundal has 34 rooms of various sizes and price ranges. There are a number of comfortable sitting rooms including the library, fire stove, music salon with a grand piano, bar, billiards room and meeting room - all original features. The large, light dining room takes the guests back to the 1800s. The food is prepared according to old, traditional recipes. The Hotel offers a unique experience, and is mentioned in Lonely Planet, Travel & Leisure and National Geographic Traveler as a hotel well worth a stay. The hotel is open from April 28th to October 1st and can accommodate up to 50 guests, 20 in double rooms and 10 in single rooms. No two rooms are alike, and all rooms have private facilities.
