Conveniently located on Massey’s Turitea Campus, this tranquil homestead and gardens provides a private and picturesque backdrop for any event. The idyllic setting and outstanding indoor-outdoor flow makes Wharerata the venue of choice when hosting conferences, weddings, garden parties and family celebrations. Our 1900 Homestad provides the perfect environment for your special occasion. Steeped in history with a timeless elegance, the wood panelled room and period decor create a memorable setting. For the ultimate indoor-outdoor event - match a marquee on the lawn with the majesty of the homestead to create a character venue that your guests will adore. The beauty of our spacious venue is that guests can move from the ceremony straight inside for the reception without having to travel anywhere. Weddings at Wharerata have been long-standing tradition. We know how to take great care of you and your family and create a special day for the wedding couple and guests to remember. With an outdoor marquee we can cater for up to 380 guests, if indoors this reduces to around 150-200 or 90 for a full sit-down event.
