Experience art around Murnau!
"The blue country" is how the area around Murnau am Staffelsee is referred to. The white-blue Bavarian sky, the lake landscape, in general "being blue" fits Bavaria quite well. In this case, however, the name "The Blue Country" has a different background. It goes back to the artist group "Blauer Reiter". After all, Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele Münter and the artist Franz Marc worked in the Upper Bavarian region before the First World War. Among other things, the Münter House in Murnau is considered the cradle of Expressionism. You can book guided tours here for only 3€. Besides the Münter House, there are many other art highlights, such as the Franz Marc or Buchheim Museum. If you like art, then you will get your money's worth and if not, then you are little philistines, but there is always the blue of the lakes that will please you.

The Augustiner Schützengarten is an idyllic beer garden in the heart of Sendling. In the stately main building, you can feel the centuries-old tradition in every detail - and once you've stood in the magnificent and impressive ballroom, you'll never forget it.
In the beer garden, you can enjoy beer from the local Augustiner brewery, served from wooden barrels. They spoil their guests with fresh, Bavarian-Austrian cuisine with regional and seasonal specialties. Highlights are always the culinary excursions into Mediterranean cuisine.
Parents know their children are in good hands at a toddlers' playground in the "Salettl," while the older kids have fun at the new children's playground or play ball on a lawn. Everything is within sight from the beer garden. Cheers!

Mei, we are doing well! Walk 5 minutes to the Siemenswerke train station and an hour later you are at Tegernsee - a happy place which you shouldn't miss!
We are in Munich in one of the most livable cities in the world and are surrounded by probably the most beautiful landscape in Germany - which beckons to excursions, beer gardens and lakes.
Tegernsee is only an hour away by train, and there are wonderful things to do locally. There is of course the Herzogliche Bräustüberl, where you literally drink your Tegernseer at the source, or the famous wellness options. Here come more tips that may not be on your radar yet.

Munich Zoo: a journey around the world.
Since 1928, the animals at Munich's Hellabrunn Zoo have been arranged by continent. A walk through the zoo therefore resembles a journey around the world, from the Arctic to Africa, from Europe to Asia and America to Australia.
The animals inhabit spacious enclosures in natural communities, nestled in the natural paradise of the Isar floodplains. More than 750 exotic and native species - from the giraffe to the alpine ibex to the leafcutter ant - live here. Highlights include the completely renovated historic elephant house, the bat grotto or the jungle world.
The zoo has a lot to offer, especially for younger guests: A petting enclosure with pygmy goats, two playgrounds and the Children's Land Hellabrunn make every child's heart beat faster.
Breathtaking moments, information and entertainment are guaranteed by the regular guided tours, animal shows and feedings such as the polar bear talk, the sea lion training, the bird of prey and the pigeon show.
For those who get hungry and thirsty during their walk through the zoo, there are of course also many places to go: There is a choice of a restaurant with a beer garden, a pizzeria, a bistro, a café, kiosks and a crêpes stand.

A former concrete plant became a creative destination as part of the Sugar Mountain art and culture project. The convergence of art and sport, of cultural experience and lingering, makes it a meeting place for Munich residents and guests from all over the world.
The range of urban exercise areas is free of charge and accessible around the clock: skate park, basketball court, ping pong area, bouldering wall, boxing gym and much more are always accessible. Beer garden and kiosk complete the infrastructure - it's a place to linger and meet friends!

Sendling's oriental side is the intersection of Implerstrasse and Valleystrasse. That's where Khudor, a native of Lebanon, opened BeirutBeirut, a super-authentic falafel store, a few years ago. Meanwhile, guests from all over Munich come here and BeirutBeirut definitely has cult status!
Khudor has been working in Sendling for a good six years and is now the proud owner of BeirutBeirut and Manouche. He has cleverly chosen his workplace in the most beautiful street of the neighborhood, if not the city. For him, Valleystrasse has everything his heart desires: beautiful building facades, a flair all of its own, lush greenery in the summer, and plenty of stores where you can enjoy delicious food. He says of Sendling that it is the only true big-city district in Munich. A colorful, great mix of all classes and nations enjoying their Sendling in harmony.
By the way, Valleystraße is one of our favorite streets in the neighborhood and is great for strolling!

Maria Einsiedel Naturbad - let's go swimming in the natural pool!

Maria Einsiedel is by far the most beautiful outdoor pool in the city: colorful pennant chains, two natural pools that are cleaned naturally and without any chlorine, and the very cold Isar canal that runs right through the outdoor pool. Of course, once you've spent the day here together, all doors are open. For the after-swim bike ride, for example, you can stroll to the Flaucherstandl and then watch the surfers at the Floßlände a little further down.
