Over ons

De eigenaar van Birchwood, Chuck Prather, koos de naam Birchwood ter ere van zijn vader, die ooit een wijk ontwikkelde in Hillsborough County met dezelfde naam. De zuidelijke buitenkant van de betonnen toevoeging is versierd met een muurschildering van 12 bij 24 voet van een berkenbos. The Birchwood werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 1924 als Lantern Lane Apartments en de enige appartementen langs Beach Drive met uitzicht op de wateren van Tampa Bay. Het gebouw in Spaanse missiestijl, opgenomen in het nationaal register van historische plaatsen, onderging een renovatie van historisch nauwkeurige afmetingen met de toevoeging van twee verdiepingen.
