LEED Certified and EarthWISE Certified, the Salem Convention Center continues it’s efforts to be sustainable by adding a solar power generation system. Meeting planners holding events at SCC can feel good that a portion of the electricity used to conduct their meetings will be directly generated by the sun! The Salem Convention Center is LEED-EB Silver Certified. The interior is built with local recycled materials (all from within a 500 mile radius of Salem) and features large expansive windows for natural light. Exploring historic downtown Salem is a classic Oregon experience. In addition to a variety of nearby shops and restaurants, Salem offers a number of attractions including the Riverfront Park and Carousel, Elsinore Theater, Reed Opera House and the State Capitol. This exhibit features beautiful sculptures created by artists throughout the Northwest. The Oregon Artist Series is presented annually at the Salem Convention Center and features the work of contemporary Oregon artists.
