Oregon Convention Center
Центр для конвенций
As one of the largest event venues in the Pacific Northwest, the Oregon Convention Center (OCC) provides outstanding experiences by embracing the local flavor and innovative approaches. OCC can host complex, large-scale events that require sophistication and detail. A recent $40 Million renovation project was completed in 2019. The OCC is LEED® Platinum, the highest level of certification possible. It's the only convention center in the U.S. to earn a level 4 APEX/ASTM certification, the first standards created specifically for green meetings and events.
PDX consistently ranks high on America's Best Airports list by Travel + Leisure magazine. With a recent renovation, visitors are now greeted by 49 skylights, 5,000 living plants, and a sustainably-sourced mass timber ceiling. Locally-owned businesses serve up food, coffee, spirits and regionally made gifts, all priced the same as what you'd find in the city (no airport mark-ups)! You'll even find a mini version of Portland's iconic Hollywood Theater screening local short films. Don't forget to grab a photo of the famous PDX carpet! The MAX light rail takes travelers from the airport to the city center and there is a dedicated ride share pick-up and drop-off area in the parking garage.
No sales tax, no food tax, and no beverage tax means built-in savings. Plus, your attendees will find retailers large and small, international and indie within easy reach of Portland hotels. Just north of downtown, the Pearl District is home to galleries, boutiques, chic restaurants and the legendary Powell’s City of Books.
Portland is the craft beer capital and home to 70+ breweries. (No wonder we call it “Beervana!”) In Portland, you’ll find scads of beer fests, bottle shops, brew ‘n’ view movie theaters and tap lists galore.
From food carts to farmers’ markets (and award-winning restaurants, of course), Portland is a culinary haven for foodies of all stripes. View our patio finder and food cart finder on TravelPortland.com.
Portland is the perfect launchpad for adventure, with the rugged Oregon Coast, snow-capped Mount Hood, lush wine country and waterfall-filled Columbia River Gorge all within easy driving distance of the city. Whether your interests are surfing, skiing, sipping or just trying something new, the region around Portland is ripe for exploration.
Need a pick-me-up after all-day meetings? Fall under the sugary spell of one of Portland’s most popular 24-hour destinations. Voodoo Doughnut is an unforgettable Portland experience that has sold millions of wacky snacks since opening their landmark downtown Portland location in December 2003.
Cartopia on the east side of the river and 5th Avenue Food Carts in downtown both offer an eclectic array of quick eats. With hundreds throughout the city, Portland’s food-cart scene is legendary. The flavorful proliferation has drawn raves from Bon Appétit magazine and CNN (which declared Portland home to the world’s best street food). Use our Food Cart Finder online to find the perfect cuisine.
Portland Japanese Garden is a haven of meticulously maintained, tranquil beauty. Proclaimed one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan, the 5.5-acre space includes an authentic Japanese tea house, meandering streams, intimate walkways and an unsurpassed view of Mount Hood.

The garden is open daily and admission is free.

Escape the city without leaving Portland in this massive urban wilderness, accessible within minutes of downtown. With 70 miles of trails, the aptly named Forest Park is a popular escape for runners, cyclists, and hikers alike. High in the West Hills within Forest Park, the Pittock Mansion offers picture-perfect views of the city and interesting insights into Portland's history.
With a planetarium, a giant-screen theater, a retired navy submarine (the USS Blueback is docked in the river right outside), traveling exhibits of all kinds and “After Dark” events that pair science talk with beer and wine for the 21-and-over set, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry has lures for all ages.
Jump on Portland’s MAX light rail right outside the Convention Center for a fast ride straight to the oldest zoo west of the Mississippi where you can see over 2,600 animals from an African pygmy hedgehog to a Visayan warty pig. More than 40 percent of the zoo has been renovated in the last few years. There’s more room for rhinos, primo real estate for primates, and a new expanse for elephants.
Explore Oregon’s fascinating history at the Oregon Historical Society. The museum features many permanent and rotating exhibits covering local history both before and after Oregon became a state in 1859, including memorabilia from Portland's 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition.
