After the plum blossoms have fallen, sumo comes to Osaka; the annual Osaka Tournament takes place at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium in mid-March. The colorful banners that belong to each wrestler are displayed in front of the venue and the huge wrestlers can be seen walking the streets of the city.
Osaka Summer
The arrival of summer means Osaka's foremost festival, the Tenjin Matsuri, which is always held on July 24 and 25. One of Japan's three largest festivals, the Tenjin consists of colorful processions of barges on Osaka's rivers, lively performances and bright fireworks displays. The entire city comes alive for this festival, which attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators from the surrounding regions.
Osaka Autumn
Autumn is another colorful time of year, when the tall noble gingko trees that line Mido-Suji Avenue, Osaka's main thoroughfare, turn bright yellow, and maple trees in Osaka Castle Park take on vivid shades of orange and red. This is when the famous Mido-Suji Parade takes place, a vibrant procession of floats and marching bands down the great boulevard. Osaka's seaside location provides spectacular views of the setting sun.

Festival Hall is a concert hall in Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan, run by the Asahi Building Co., Ltd., a Japanese real estate company controlling properties of the Asahi Shimbun Company, and is housed in the Festival Tower, a skyscraper. The opening ceremony of the new hall was held on April 3, 2013. The new hall has 2,700 seats, the same number of seats the original hall had. The hall was home to the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra until the original hall was closed. The orchestra moved its home to the Symphony Hall in Oyodo-minami, Kita-ku.
