A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Skellig Michael Island is renowned as the site of a well-preserved monastic outpost of the early Christian period with stone beehive huts where monks lived and prayed clinging to cliff edges alongside oratories, a cemetery, stone crosses, holy wells and the Church of St Michael. The site is accessed by boat and climbing over 600 stone steps on a 1,000-year-old stairway. To film fans they’re another planet altogether, refuge of legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker in the most recent box office-smashing Star Wars instalments. To history buffs, they’re home to an incredibly well-preserved ancient monastic outpost - Skellig Michael in particular. But to absolutely everyone, these two islands are utterly mesmerising.

The Long Room is Trinity College's historic library. At nearly 65 metres in length, it is filled with 200,000 of the Library’s oldest books and is one of the most impressive libraries in the world. The Long Room is home to the Book of Kells. This 9th Century ancient manuscipt, contains the four Gospels in Latin intermixed with readings from the earlier Old Latin translation. The book is written on vellum (prepared calfskin) in a bold and expert version of the script known as "insular majuscule". Other treasures in the Long Room include one of the few remaining copies of the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic which was read outside the General Post Office on 24 April 1916 by Patrick Pearse at the start of the Easter Rising. The harp is the oldest of its kind in Ireland and probably dates from the 15th century. It is made of oak and willow with 29 brass strings. It is the model for the emblem of Ireland.

Brú na Bóinne, which means the ‘palace’ or the ‘mansion’ of the Boyne, refers to the area within the bend of the River Boyne which contains one of the world’s most important prehistoric landscapes. It is located close to the east coast of Ireland approximately 40 km north of Dublin city, about 8km west of the medieval town of Drogheda and about 5km east of the village of Slane. The archaeological landscape within Brú na Bóinne is dominated by the three well-known large passage tombs, Knowth, Newgrange and Dowth, built some 5,000 years ago in the Neolithic or Late Stone Age. An additional ninety monuments have been recorded in the area giving rise to one of the most significant archaeological complexes in terms of scale and density of monuments and the material evidence that accompanies them. The Brú na Bóinne tombs, in particular Knowth, contain the largest assemblage of megalithic art in Western Europe.

For you, the event planner, we want to make life as easy as possible so you can deliver an outstanding experience in Ireland for your clients. We offer a complimentary service with a suite of supports and we're with you every step of the way. Practical supports: We offer access to our planners toolkit with images and videos to help sell Ireland to stakeholders. We can also introduce you to our network of approved partners including Destination Management Companies or Regional Convention Bureaux. Financial Supports: Site Inspection Hosting: A crucial element in the decision-making process, we can fund and coordinate site visits for you as the decision maker, covering meeting facilities, hotels, social options, and attractions. Programme Enhancement Fund: When considering Ireland, it is important to note that we can provide a financial contribution towards your event. We am delighted to inform you that for events due to take place in event year 2023, we are offering support of up to €30 per delegate. ***Terms and Conditions apply. Please note that this application can be submitted anytime from now but must be submitted before confirming for Ireland and a minimum of 2 months before the event takes place.
