The Dan Maples design is a fair, but challenging layout that uses the existing terrain to create a beautiful, winding layout. Completed in 2008, zMAX Dragway hosts National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) events twice a year in the spring and fall. As a track of “firsts,” the best way to describe the “Bellagio of Drag Strips” is by the numbers. Take a look! 2 pedestrian tunnels. zMAX Dragway is the first drag strip in the world to feature two tunnels underneath the strip to increase fan mobility. 125 dragway acreage. The elevation is 630 feet, and zero is the number of places on the campus where you’ll escape the thunderous sounds during an event! 3,835 feet is the length of the dragway. 1,345 feet of the length is concrete, and the dragway is 60 feet wide. The Shutdown length is 2,515 feet. 11 luxury suites in the dragway tower. You’ll find 17 more located on top of John Force Grandstands. 500 number of cars that competed in front of yet another sold-out crowd when popular TV show ‘PINKS All Out’ came to zMAX Dragway in 2009. Reed Gold Mine

The first documented discovery of gold in the US happened right here in Cabarrus County when 12-year-old Conrad Reed discovered a 17-pound gold nugget in Little Meadow Creek. After using it as a doorstop for three years, Conrad’s father John Reed sold the nugget for $3.50 to a jeweler in Fayetteville without realizing its value. Upon his return, he and three friends began searching the creek bed for gold, effectively starting the nation’s first gold rush. Today, this state historic site is the only underground gold mine in North Carolina open to the public. Pan for gold (April-October), explore restored portions of underground tunnels on a guided tour, view exhibits of historic mining equipment and enjoy walking trails. Admission is free; panning is $3 per pan.

Since 1982, nationally ranked drivers like Bobby Labonte, Ernie Irvan, Jack Sprague and many more of today’s racing greats have taken the checkered flag at Concord USA to start their careers. Cabarrus County’s home track encompasses a half-mile tri-oval and quarter-mile oval. The Quarter-Mile hosts Legend Car, Bandolero and Davis SRL Series weekly. The Half-Mile track hosts special events and touring series races and is available for private testing, driving schools and TV and motion picture production.

Sit-Down Tastings are available on a first come, first served basis and last an average of 15-20 minutes – reservations for groups of 6 or more are requested so we can accommodate everyone in a timely manner. Currently our wine tasting includes a selection of eight Rocky River Vineyards wines as well as samples of our wine slushies and hot mulled wine. The cost for a tasting is $8+tax per person. A souvenir glass with a tasting is an additional $2. We do offer 1 – 2 samples free of charge. Our Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10-6, Sunday 1-6, we’re closed on Mondays.
