Sendo uma das cidades mais antigas do país, com mais de 2.000 anos, Braga combina o tradicional e o moderno à perfeição, proporcionando uma viagem pela história e arquitetura de várias épocas. Nesta cidade do norte de Portugal, no coração da região do Minho, pode-se observar vestígios da época romana (quando era chamada de Bracara Augusta, em homenagem ao imperador Augusto). Mas também se pode visitar a primeira catedral do país, que foi ordenada para ser construída no século XII. Ou visite o estádio municipal de Braga, projetado por Eduardo Souto Moura, arquiteto distinguido com o Prêmio Pritzker em 2011. Cidade indispensável na rota do turismo religioso — é imperdível subir até Bom Jesus do Monte a pé, para os mais corajosos, ou pegando o pitoresco funicular de 1882, o primeiro na Península Ibérica — Braga é famosa por suas muitas igrejas e santuários, por sua arte sacra, por sua inspiração barroca e seu centro histórico. Cheia de vida durante todo o ano, esta cidade mantém um espírito jovem e vibrante, graças ao ambiente estudantil, ao centro universitário e à sua vibração tecnológica - na verdade, é aqui que está instalado o Laboratório Ibérico de Nanotecnologia. Sem falar na riqueza cultural, nos inúmeros eventos anuais e na gastronomia local, principalmente as Frigideiras (mini-tortas de massa folhada de carne), o bacalhau à Braga, as papas de Sarrabulho (ensopado de porco desfiado com molho de sangue coalhado), o cabrito assado, o pudim Abade de Priscos ou os irresistíveis biscoitos Fidalguinhos. Dedicada à história dos conventos e à fundação de Portugal, esta unidade integra o conceito Collection, que se distingue pelo seu serviço de qualidade. O Vila Galé Collection Braga nasce da reabilitação do antigo hospital de São Marcos, um edifício de interesse público, datado de 1508 e construído onde existia uma ermida dedicada a São Marcos, um albergue e um convento templário. Respeitando o lado histórico e arquitetônico do edifício, este hotel mantém a estrutura existente e recupera elementos como os tetos abobadados originais.
