The freshly renovated New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is an essential component of what makes the city's major business events so successful. Her daily two-hour jazz cruises depart from the Toulouse St. Wharf (behind JAX Brewery in the French Quarter) at 11:30 A.M.; 2:30 P.M.; and 7:00 P.M. True to tradition in every detail, boarding the NATCHEZ makes you feel as if you have entered another era. The calliope trills a melody into the air while the great wheel, 25 tons of white oak, churns the heavy waters of the Mississippi. You soon find yourself slipping into a sense of the old, vast and timeless river. As the NATCHEZ glides past the French Quarter and through one of the world’s most active ports, you begin to understand the magic of the experience. For all its history and romance, the excitement of riding a steamboat is as real and rich and genuine now as it was a century ago.

Few cities in the world are so identified by a building as is New Orleans. The city is instantly recognized by our cathedral and its position overlooking Jackson Square. The Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis King of France is the oldest Catholic cathedral in continual use in the United States. As the caretakers of the Historic place of worship, we constantly battle the elements and the aging of the Cathedral with ongoing conservation and restoration.

The French Market District encompasses six blocks on the riverside of the Lower French Quarter plus the Shops at the Upper Pontalba on Jackson Square. The district includes over 30 unique retail shops, indoor and outdoor performance venues, restaurants and cafes, a flea market and a farmers market. In addition to the recreational shopping opportunities and ongoing free special events, the District boasts historical monuments such as Washington Artillery Park (across from Jackson Square) and New Place de France (home of the Joan of Arc statue), public art, scenic walkways, and convenient riverside parking. The RTA’s red streetcars can also be taken to reach various sections of the District.

The historic Jackson Square, originally known in the 18th Century as 'Place d'Armes' and later renamed in honor of the Battle of New Orleans hero, Andrew Jackson, is a featured attraction in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans.
