Explore the former site of Bethlehem Steel and discover its history. The structure connected the ore yards, once located near where Wind Creek Bethlehem currently stands, to the blast furnaces at the heart of the plant. For almost a century, cars ran along it daily, delivering the ingredients for making iron.
Today, it has been reimagined as an elevated park and pedestrian walkway where you can stand almost within arm’s reach of the blast furnaces that were once used to make the iron that helped create the Golden Gate Bridge and the Empire State Building, among several other iconic structures. Raised 46 feet above the ground, the $15.5 million trail runs 1,650 feet from near Bethlehem Landing Visitors Center towards Wind Creek Bethlehem.
Described as the "narrative spine" of the plant, the trestle runs past the vacant industrial buildings that stand as monuments to what was once the nation's second-largest steelmaker. The walkway features benches, landscaping, and a self-guided tour with plaques describing how steel was made and the significance of some of the large buildings still standing.

Historic Moravian Bethlehem “A National Historic Landmark District”
Distrito comercial
Historic Moravian Bethlehem, which includes 14 acres along the Lehigh River, has entered a very select group by joining the fewer than 2,500 properties nationwide to be designated as a National Historic Landmark District. Historic Moravian Bethlehem is one of only six in the state of Pennsylvania with the accolade.
The National Park Service defines a National Historic Landmark as an historic site, structure, object or district that represents an outstanding aspect of American history and culture. A beautiful plaque designating the area on Main Street in the city of Bethlehem notes this.
Founded by members of the Moravian church in 1741, it didn’t take the Moravians long to develop industry within Bethlehem. In just a short six years there were more than 35 industries established in the closed community of Bethlehem. This was the largest concentration of pre-Industrial Revolution trades in the American Colonies and can be considered America’s earliest park.
This area is now known as the Colonial Industrial Quarter and features the original waterworks, tannery and grist mill structures. The 1762 Waterworks is America’s first pumped municipal water system, a National Historic Landmark, American Civil Engineering Landmark, and American Water Landmark.
As one has the pleasure to walk through the area you will instantly become aware of the beautiful buildings that mesh almost seamlessly with present-day structures and culture.
In the last decade, Bethlehem or the “Christmas City” has experienced its own renaissance. The historic district, originally an area rich with the cultural traditions and religions of its many immigrants, is now home to the affectionately named “Restaurant Row” as well as art galleries and shops. The First Friday of every month shows off the best of the Southside district with music, entertainment, and food at each of the eclectic shops and galleries participating in the First Friday Celebration.
Today, Bethlehem is known for its many annual events including Musikfest in August, Celtic Classic in September, and Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem in November and December, among many others.

Farmers Restaurant Group
multi-city
When the members of North Dakota Farmers Union (NDFU) began talking about the future, they sought to provide a restaurant brand where consumers would benefit from a direct link to the source of foods cultivated on American family farms. And Farmers Restaurant Group was born. As we watch much of the restaurant industry cut labor costs and offer foods with additives to extend shelf life, we’re doing the opposite. We continually look for opportunities to add value to all our ingredients. We source pure ingredients in order to cook, mix, and bake our food and beverage items from scratch, in-house, every day, all while honoring American family farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
