The SO/ Collection has come to Paris for the first time. The brand new flagship of the Ennismore group’s hotel collection, the luxury 5* SO/Paris hotel has a front row seat to the Seine. More than just a hotel, the new location in the heart of the 4th arrondissement of Paris between the Marais, Bastille, the Saint Louis Island and the Left bank is a journey along the water and a hub of creation, where fine art and fashion collide on every floor. The unique space includes: 162 rooms and suites located from floor 7 to 14 and with absolutely breathtaking views of the capital, Bonnie (the hotel’s restaurant, bar and club by Paris Society with 360 views of the city of light, located floor 15 and 16), the Maison CODAGE Spa, and complimentary direct access to the O Zenhit sport club located in the "La Felicite Paris Sully-Morland" complex, featuring a pool and a fitness. At SO/ Paris, it is also never business as usual. With a total of 200sqm 2150 sqft of meeting space, all with natural daylight & located on the 7th floor; our 4 meeting rooms and flexible common spaces are perfect for any for corporate meetings, seminars, boardmeetings or press junkets.

In 1830, the "Trois Glorieuses", the Three Glorious Days or the July Revolution, brought Louis-Philippe to power. To pay tribute to the victims and their struggle, he ordered the construction of a triumphal column topped with the Génie de la Liberté (Spirit of Freedom). Two architects worked on this monument: Alavoine and then Duc. Built on the site of the Bastille prison, the July Column was inaugurated in 1840. During the ceremony, the Grand Funeral and Triumphal Symphony by Hector Berlioz, conducted by the composer, was performed as the bodies of the revolutionaries arrived in their funereal carriage for burial in the monument. After the 1848 Revolution, the throne of Louis-Philippe was burned at the foot of the column and the remains of the rioters were interred in the vaults of the monument. Following the fall of Napoleon III in 1871, during the Paris Commune, the monument barely escaped destruction. Classed as a historical monument in 1995, an important relic of the 19th century due to its history and architecture, the column will open to visitors in 2018.
