Ruby Sofie begon zijn leven als de Sofiensäle, een groots 19e-eeuws badhuis. Dankzij haar uitstekende akoestiek veranderde zingen onder de douche echter al snel in concerten en galaballen, waarbij iedereen, van Johann Strauss tot de Kinks, haar podium sierde.
