Als de derde oudste joodse gemeente in Amerika en de eerste synagoge die in Georgië werd gebouwd, heeft Congregation Mickve Israel een rijke geschiedenis. In ons bekroonde Lawrence & Nancy Gutstein Museum kunnen bezoekers unieke artefacten vinden die dateren uit de tijd dat de congregatie werd opgericht in 1733, waaronder de oudste Thora in Noord-Amerika, brieven van presidenten aan onze gemeente en nog veel meer.
Congregation Mickve Israel werd door Condé Nast Traveler uitgeroepen tot een van de „15 mooiste synagogen ter wereld” en door Trip Advisor beoordeeld als een van de „15 BESTE dingen om te doen in Savannah”. Elk jaar verwelkomt onze gemeente meer dan 12.000 bezoekers om een rondleiding te krijgen door onze synagoge in gotische stijl en samen met ons te aanbidden. Onze rondleidingen door docenten duren ongeveer 45 minuten en we ontvangen zowel individuele bezoekers als groepen.

De Telfair Academy is het oudste openbare kunstmuseum in het Zuiden en het eerste kunstmuseum in Amerika dat is opgericht door een vrouw.
