De Golden Gate Bridge is een iconisch bouwwerk dat de stad San Francisco verbindt met Martin County, Californië. Het strekt zich bijna drie kilometer uit over de Golden Gate, de smalle zeestraat waar San Francisco Bay uitkomt op de Stille Oceaan. De droom om San Francisco met zijn noorderburen te verbinden werd werkelijkheid toen de bouw in 1933 begon. Tijdens de Grote Depressie kregen bouwploegen de kans op een vaste baan, trotseerde het bouwpersoneel verraderlijke omstandigheden toen de rijbaan en torens boven open water vorm kregen. De Golden Gate Bridge, die in 1937 voor het publiek werd geopend, heeft zich bewezen als een beeldschoon monument en een technisch wonder.

The Cannery San Francisco is een historisch, gerenoveerd gebouw in Fisherman's Wharf. Dit prachtige bakstenen gebouw ligt ongeveer drie blokken ten westen van Pier 39. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 1907, huisvestte het 30 jaar lang de conservenfabriek van De Monte in deze regio. Het was het grootste deel van die tijd de grootste conservenlocatie in de VS. Nadat De Monte het in 1937 had gesloten, werd het gebruikt als magazijn voor een aantal kleinere bedrijven. In de jaren 60 kocht een lokale investeerder het en transformeerde het in een leuke, vintage winkel- en restaurantruimte.

Ongeëvenaarde uitzichten. Onvergetelijke reizen. Geen enkele ervaring is zo uniek in San Francisco als een ritje in een kabelbaan. De kabelbanen staan symbool voor onze grote stad (samen met een ander wereldberoemd vervoersicoon). Tip: het is een hangbrug in de kleur International Orange.) We zijn tenslotte de stad die voor het eerst auto's lanceerde die werden getrokken door kabels die onder de straat liepen. De kabelbanen van San Francisco zijn hier bijna 150 jaar geleden uitgevonden en in 1964 uitgeroepen tot National Historic Landmark. Tegenwoordig worden de kabelbanen van San Francisco in topvorm gehouden door ons agentschap.
