Een uniek stadshotel & Grand Café gevestigd in het oude postkantoor van Leeuwarden. We zijn uniek, uniek, een bijzonder Grand Café & Hotel met een eigen identiteit en karakter. Het 18e-eeuwse stadspaleis van Maria Louise van Hessen-Kassel, prinses van Oranje Nassau, voorouder van koning Willem-Alexander, ligt in het hart van het historische stadscentrum van Leeuwarden. In dit gebouw is het Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics gevestigd. In 1898 werd Maurits Cornelis Escher, liefkozend 'Mauk' genoemd, er geboren. De mooiste keramiek verzameld in het Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics. Het museum heeft de grootste en meest gevarieerde collectie Chinees porselein in Nederland en heeft een rijke collectie Nederlandse Art Nouveau- en Art Deco-keramiek uit de periode 1880-1930. Onze collecties Chinees keizerlijk porselein, prachtige Art Nouveau en iconische Delftsblauwe voorwerpen en werken van kunstenaars zoals Picasso laten zien dat keramiek van alle tijden en van alle leeftijden is. Naast de permanente tentoonstelling From East and West heeft het museum een levendig programma van wisselende, veelbesproken tentoonstellingen.

Gelegen in Leeuwarden, hoofdstad van de Nederlandse provincie Friesland (Fryslân), heeft het Fries Museum een rijke geschiedenis van bijna 190 jaar. In 2013 verhuisde het naar het eerste nieuw gebouwde Nederlandse museumgebouw van de 21e eeuw. Als belangrijkste bewaarplaats van het materiële erfgoed van Friesland wordt het internationaal erkend voor belangrijke aspecten van de collectie. Dit zijn onder meer spectaculaire schatten die zijn opgegraven in oude Friese terpen, 17e- en 18e-eeuws Fries zilverwerk en werken van de 19e-eeuwse schilder Lawrence Alma-Tadema, geboren in de buurt van Leeuwarden. Hier bevindt zich ook de Hindeloopenzaal, die op de Grote Tentoonstelling van Parijs in 1878 een internationaal icoon van de Noord-Europese identiteit werd, evenals voorwerpen die de nalatenschap van Mata Hari, geboren in Leeuwarden, benadrukken. Museumbezoekers kunnen werken bewonderen van schilders van oude meesters en 20e-eeuwse Friese kunstenaars zoals Gerrit Benner, maar ook Nederlandse en internationale hedendaagse kunst en design. Aan de hand van deze voorwerpen vertelt het Fries Museum verhalen over de elf steden en het platteland van Friesland, de haat-liefdeverhouding die Friezen hebben met water en de zoektocht om de Friese cultuur en de positie van Friesland in de wereld te bepalen.

Enorm uniek! Een hotel & Grand Café waar ze hun eigen koffie branden. Post-Plaza is de enige in heel Europa. Na veel testen en proeven hebben we nu onze eigen Post-Plaza-koffie. Roastmaster Jesse is verantwoordelijk voor het brandproces en hij zorgt ervoor dat elk kopje dezelfde voortreffelijke smaak heeft. Het voordeel van het branden van onze eigen koffie is dat we een zeer strikte controle krijgen over de kwaliteit van de koffie, die we constant hoog houden. Loop langs onze koffiebranderij op de tussenverdieping in het Grand Café. Misschien is Jesse beschikbaar, hij deelt graag zijn passie. Jesse roostert meer dan 2000 kilo koffiebonen per jaar. Niet alleen voor Post-Plaza maar ook voor andere hotels en onze webshop. Naast onze koffies kun je in de Post-Plaza winkel ook mousserende wijn, snijplanken en traditionele Nederlandse snoepjes kopen.
