Over ons

Borgo Egnazia, trots lid van Leading Hotels of the World, ligt vlak naast de San Domenico Golf, grenzend aan de ruïnes van de oude stad Egnazia in het noorden, het vissersdorp Savelletri in het zuiden en omgeven door de prachtige Apulische olijfgaarden. Het resort ligt op slechts een paar honderd meter van de kustlijn en ligt net in het midden van Apulië, perfect voor het verkennen van de hele regio. Polignano a Mare, bijgenaamd de 'Parel van de Adriatische Zee' en de geboorteplaats van Domenico Modugno, ligt slechts 30 km ten zuiden van Bari, die zich uitstrekt langs een grillige kustlijn die wordt gekenmerkt door blauwe vlagstranden met kristalhelder water en gedeeltelijk ondergedompelde zeegrotten. Het historische centrum is een ontmoetingspunt van verschillende culturen en toont sporen van Arabische, Byzantijnse, Spaanse en Normandische overheersing, bijvoorbeeld de overblijfselen van de vier wachttorens die ooit de oude stadsmuren domineerden. Bijzonder interessant zijn de moederkerk gewijd aan Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van de Hemelvaart uit 1295 en de boog aan de hoofdingang, ooit de enige toegang tot de stad.
