Het Hongaars Nationaal Museum verzamelt, bewaart en presenteert de historische overblijfselen van het Karpatische Bekken en Hongarije sinds 1802. Het majestueuze gebouw werd gebouwd door Mihály Pollack, dezelfde architect die ook het oorspronkelijke gebouw van Párisi Udvar heeft gebouwd. In de tuin hebben verschillende artiesten opgetreden, waaronder Ferenc Liszt. Tegenwoordig is de tuin de locatie van het Museumfestival. Scènes uit de film Evita, met Madonna in de hoofdrol, werden gefilmd op de trappen die naar binnen leidden. Het is gemakkelijk bereikbaar vanaf ons hotel met 10 minuten lopen, met de tram of de metro.

Het is de grootste synagoge in Europa, biedt plaats aan 3.000 mensen en is een centrum van het neolog-jodendom. Het synagogecomplex bestaat uit de Grote Synagoge, de Heldentempel, het kerkhof, het Memorial en het Joods Museum. Wereldberoemde componisten zoals Ferenc Liszt en Camille Saint-Saëns bespeelden het originele orgel met 5.000 pijpen, gebouwd in 1859.
