Het voormalige postgebouw - tegenwoordig het gemeentehuis van Davos - is perfect geschikt om de rijke collectie waardevolle wintersportuitrusting en documenten van de oprichting van de familie van Jürg Kaufmann in Davosdue tot aan de centrale locatie tentoon te stellen. In het wintersportmuseum kunnen bezoekers van Davos indrukwekkende tentoonstellingen bekijken (sleeën, bobsleeën, ski's, schaatsen, curlinguitrusting, enz.) vanaf het begin van de wintersport tot op heden.

Kirchner museum Davos
Museum
Ernst Ludwig Kirchner woonde van 1918 tot aan zijn dood in Davos. Zijn veelomvattende werk was baanbrekend voor het Duitse expressionisme. Het Kirchner Museum Davos werd geopend in 1992 en beschikt over de grootste collectie van zijn werken ter wereld. Het museumgebouw werd ontworpen door de architecten Annette Gigon en Mike Guyer uit Zürich en wordt met zijn eenvoudige en logische vorm zeer gewaardeerd in internationale architectuurkringen.

Niet voor niets: Davos heeft een rijke traditie in het organiseren van congressen. Hier vindt u het modernste congrescentrum van de Alpen, dat zelfs het World Economic Forum (WEF) aantrekt — dit heeft van Davos een begrip gemaakt in de internationale zakenwereld. Davos biedt 100 verschillende vergaderzalen met een capaciteit van meer dan 15.000 deelnemers. Vergaderingen en congressen werden voor het eerst gehouden in Davos in de 19e eeuw: beroemde gasten en artsen uit heel Europa verbleven in het populaire kuuroord in de bergen om hun laatste bevindingen uit te wisselen. In 1923 organiseerden de artsen van Davos het eerste internationale congres. Het Fysisch-Meteorologisch Observatorium volgde in 1925 en Albert Einstein opende de eerste universitaire opleiding in Davos in 1928. Dit verhief Davos tot de status van een congresstad en het begon erkend te worden als een ontmoetingsplaats voor de intellectuele elite.
