A two-hour ride north of Tokyo, Chikusenso Mt Zao Resort & Spa is nestled in an area known for its rugged beauty and spectacular crater lake, ski slopes and onsen. Covering 66,000 sq metres, this 32-room heritage resort is cradled between two large rivers at the foot of Mt Zao in Togatta-Onsen, Miyagi Prefecture, reputed to be one of the most beautiful places in Japan, with changing colours for each season. Chikusenso features a total of 32 well-appointed rooms with pleasant, natural earth tones that blend with the tranquil ambience of the surrounding. The architectural brilliance of this resort provides superb views of a meandering river, bamboo groves, towering oaks, gardens, mountain in each changing season from every room.
