• Opening daily: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm • Entrance fees VND30,000 The Hoa Lo Prison or "Maison Centrale", was built by the French administration in 1896 when Vietnam was part of French Indochina, to house Vietnamese political prisoners and was later used by the Vietnamese for American prisoners of war. The prison was mostly demolished in the 1990s and turned into a museum. Cells and dungeons can still be visited. To meet the growing demand for visitors, the Hoa Lo Prison Relic has launched a night tour program, which is not just a tour, but an emotional cultural and historical experience.

National Museum of Vietnamese History

The museum was reopened in 1958 by the Vietnamese Government and now presents thousands of pieces and documents introducing and explaining the history of national construction and defense of the Vietnamese people.
