Monument Circle, as it is called today, is the site of frequent festivals and lunchtime concerts. Water cascades into collecting pools brilliantly illuminated at night. For a panoramic view of the city, one can walk or take the elevator 230 feet up to the glass enclosed balcony. From the glassed-in observation area, the original city plan of Indianapolis is apparent. Monument Circle and the blocks surrounding it is the site of many monuments, restaurants, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and other treats such as the South Bend Chocolate Company. Founded in 1902, the Indianapolis Indians are the second-oldest minor league franchise in American professional baseball. The team plays in the International League and is the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball. Victory Field is dubbed "the best minor league ballpark in America."

Lucas Oil Stadium is a state-of-the-art retractable roof, multi-purpose facility seating over 67,000 fans while featuring spectacular views of the downtown Indianapolis skyline. Opened in 2008 as the new home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, this facility already boasts an impressive resume having been named the 2009 Sports Facility of the Year by Street and Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal and having their Fieldturf surface ranked as the NFL’s best artificial surface in both 2009 and 2010.

The Indiana Convention Center is located in the heart of the 12th largest city in the U.S., Indianapolis, Indiana. The state capital, Indianapolis ranks in the top 25 most visited cities in the country, with 18 million annual visitors. Indianapolis International Airport accommodates 150 flights each day, carrying 7.4 million yearly passengers to and from the Circle City.

Today, the ISO is the largest performing arts organization in Indiana and performs hundreds of concerts every year. In September 2011, Krzysztof Urbanski began his tenure as Music Director of the ISO, and at the age of 29, is the youngest Music Director of any major American orchestra.

The Indianapolis Zoo is located in White River State Park downtown, and since opening in 1964, it has grown into a world-class facility hosting a million visitors each year and playing a major role in worldwide conservation and research, including accomplishing the world’s first successful artificial insemination of an African elephant. The Indianapolis Zoo was the first attraction triple accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and theAmerican Association of Museumsas a zoo, an aquarium and a botanic garden.
