he Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa is situated in the golden triangle of the Algarve. Surrounded by luxurious villas with the Pinhal Golf Course at the resort doorstep, Faro International Airport is only a 20 minute drive away and a 2 hour drive from Lisbon, the capital of Portugal.
Directions from Faro International Airport
There are two possibilities (N-125 Route and A22 Highway), we advise guests to choose the first route:
N-125 ROUTE
At the airport roundabout follow the sign N-125 Faro. After 3 km, turn right to Loule/Lisboa/Portimão onto the N-125 travel ahead to the traffic lights continuing towards Loule/Lisboa/Portimão. Take the N-125/ Almancil until the sign N-125/Albufeira/Quarteira follow this route until reaching the roundabout. Travel straight on through two roundabouts in the direction to N-125/Portimão/Albufeira. When reaching the first signs for Vilamoura turn left and follow signs to the town center (Centro), passing three roundabouts and continuing straight ahead. The sign for the Hotel Hilton will appear, make a left as to reverse your direction. Immediately after turn right, following once again the Hotel Hilton sign which will now lead you into a secondary road. Drive straight ahead for 2 km, passing by a crossroad and a small roundabout until reaching Hilton Vilamoura. The entrance will be on your right hand side (Entrada) and you will have complimentary parking inside the 3 floor underground garage.
A22 ROUTE
From the airport follow signs for Portimão, take the A22 (Via do Infante) in the direction of Portimão/Lisboa. Leave the A22 at junction 11 (Boliqueime/Vilamoura) and continue straight ahead following directions for Vilamoura. Follow the signs to the center (Centro), passing three roundabouts and continuing straight ahead.
The sign for the Hotel Hilton will appear, make a left as to reverse your direction. Immediately after turn right, following once again the Hotel Hilton sign which will now lead you into a secondary road. Drive straight ahead for 2 km, passing by a crossroad and a small roundabout until reaching Hilton Vilamoura. This was the second golf course built in Vilamoura and inaugurated in 1976, having originally been designed by Frank Pennink, the architect of the nearby Oceanico Old Course.
Several refinements were incorporated over the years, the most significant one by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1985. The course is typified by rolling parkland terrain covered with numerous umbrella and Atlantic pines that line many of the fairways and a few even stand out on fairways or near greens.
Ponds and a stream come into play on five holes but are not serious threats to above-average golfers. To keep up with modern technical advances in clubs and balls, several holes have recently been lengthened and the par 72 course now measures 6353m off the white tee markers.

At the heart of Vilamoura is the marina which has the capacity to berth over 1,000 vessels. The marina is surrounded by large Hotels and Luxury holiday homes as well as a large casino and numerous restaurants and vibrant bars. At the far corner of the marina, it is possible to charter boats for big game fishing. There are also facilities for jet skiing and parascending. Close by there are also a number of sports clubs, a shooting range and many night clubs. Activities include touring the local caves along the coastline (which are nearer to Albufeira than they are to Vilamoura). This cave tour is usually done on tour boats. The area also has two companies which operate trains-on-wheels for travel between resorts.
