This Laguna Chaxa is one of the main attractions within the Los Flamencos National Reserve, in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. This saltwater lagoon, located about 50 km south of the town, is famous for its surreal landscapes and as a habitat for various bird species, including flamingos. The water is saline, and the surrounding arid environment of the Atacama Desert adds to its unique beauty.
On the other hand, Toconao is a small and picturesque village located about 35 km from San Pedro de Atacama. This village is known for its volcanic stone buildings, especially the San Lucas church, which was built in 1750.
