Chi siamo

L'Hotel Scala ha le sue origini nell'antica stazione dei pullman e locanda Gasthof «an der Stiegen» o «an der Hilben», nome che indica il laghetto che si trovava di fronte all'Hotel un secolo fa. L'Hotel è stato radicalmente trasformato nel 1898, quando è stata costruita la facciata in stile Liberty e l'intero complesso è stato ampliato per accogliere il flusso sempre crescente di turisti tedeschi che affollano Bolzano da novembre ad aprile per svago. Il periodo del fascismo portò un cambiamento radicale a Bolzano con l'aggiunta di complessi industriali pesanti, ponendo fine al clima e all'aria buoni della città. Ecco perché la dipendenza, distrutta dalle bombe durante la seconda guerra mondiale, non è mai stata ricostruita. Solo nel 1994 sono state costruite dieci camere «Superior» di nuova costruzione nell'ala del giardino, che offrono una bella vista sui dintorni. Forse la ristrutturazione più estesa è avvenuta nel 2008 nell'ala sud. 33 camere «Standard» obsolete sono state eliminate e sostituite con 25 camere «Comfort» più grandi, per lo più doppie. Anche molte altre camere hanno beneficiato dei lavori di ristrutturazione e sono dotate di aria condizionata.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
