Le château de Santa Barbara est situé au sommet du mont Benacantil, à 166 mètres d'altitude. C'est l'une des plus grandes forteresses médiévales d'Espagne, d'où l'on peut parfaitement voir la baie d'Alicante. Il comporte trois enceintes situées à différentes hauteurs et datant de trois époques différentes : Dans l'enceinte la plus haute (« La Torreta ») se trouvent la Torre del Homenaje et les plus anciens vestiges de la forteresse, datant pour la plupart du XIVe siècle. Dans l'enceinte centrale se trouvent les pièces les plus importantes construites au XVIe siècle, telles que : - La salle Philippe II - Le corps de garde - Le Patio des armes - Le Bastion de la Reine. L'enceinte inférieure date du XVIIIe siècle et abrite le soi-disant Revellín del Bon Repós. ACCÈS GRATUIT Le château de Santa Barbara dispose d'une connexion wifi gratuite.
