Pourquoi choisir notre destination ?
La vieille ville hanséatique de Francfort-sur-l'Oder vaut le détour. De puissants bâtiments historiques de style gothique en brique du nord de l'Allemagne témoignent de son passé magnifique, comme l'hôtel de ville ou l'église Sainte-Marie avec ses peintures sur verre colorées et lumineuses, une description détaillée de l'histoire biblique, la célèbre bible illustrée. La salle de concert « Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach », une ancienne église franciscaine, abrite notamment l'Orchestre d'État de Brandebourg et la « Singakademie » (chœur). Depuis 1999, Francfort porte le titre de « Ville Kleist » : c'est ici que le poète est né, il a étudié et c'est là que le mémorial et le centre de recherche Kleist ont été créés. Mais Francfort possède d'autres musées qui méritent d'être visités : par exemple le Museum Viadrina ou le Museum Junge Kunst (art jeune). La ville est fière de la restauration de l'Europa Universität Viadrina (1992) : actuellement, des jeunes de 78 pays différents y étudient. Francfort est une ville sportive, de nombreux médaillés olympiques, mondiaux et européens sont originaires d'ici. Francfort est une ville très « verte », avec de nombreux parcs anciens magnifiques qui valent le détour. Enfin et surtout, Francfort est en train de devenir une ville solaire. Trois entreprises spécialisées dans la technologie solaire respectueuse de l'environnement ont installé leurs activités ici. Comme le dit le proverbe : le soleil se lève à l'est !
