Grand in every way. Italian tenor Enrico Caruso was not only the most famous entertainer in the world in his time, he was one of the most famous people in the world. And in 1909, he lived at The Knickerbocker because of its proximity to the Metropolitan Opera, making him naturally, our most famous resident (who gave impromptu performances from his balcony). This grand one-bedroom pied-à-terre channels the grand personality, impeccable taste, and joie de vivre Caruso was known for, commanding 1,200 square feet on our top floor, with curved arches, exquisitely crafted furnishings, decadent marble bathroom, and other elegant details. Opulent pieces of Waterford crystal from the iconic Lismore collection add to the larger-than-life appeal of this suite. The Lismore design has been the iconic signature pattern for Waterford since its inception in 1952, just as Caruso was the signature guest at The Knickerbocker. A fitting addition to a suite named for one of our most iconic historic guests.
