Kingman, the Heart of historic Route 66 & one of the hidden treasures of Arizona, is conveniently located on Interstate 40 and is the perfect launching point for "Route 66 and Beyond". The roots of Arizona are captured by the Historic Route 66 Museum, Army Airfield Museum, and the Mohave Museum of History and Arts that recount the travels on Route 66, depict the World War II era and the early days of railroading, mining and ranching. Keepers of the Wild, a nonprofit sanctuary, sits on 175 acres held in Trust, giving more than 150 exotic animals a permanent home with beautiful rock formations, and natural vegetation. Existing buildings have been renovated for use as office space and food-prep kitchen. The gift shop is now open.
