Polly Hill Arboetum

The Polly Hill Arboretum, a Martha’s Vineyard horticultural and botanical landmark, was developed by the legendary horticulturist, Polly Hill (1907-2007). Here in 1958, Polly began an arboretum by sowing a seed, eventually bringing 20 acres under cultivation while preserving 40 additional acres as native woodland. Established in 1998 as a not-for-profit institution the Arboretum is devoted to the cultivation and study of plants and the preservation of the character and magic of this tranquil landscape.

The Flying Horses Carousel

The Flying Carousel is the nation’s oldest platform carousel and has been designated by the U.S. Department of the Interior as a national landmark. Constructed in 1876 by Charles Dare, it is one of only two Dare carousels still in existence. Originally operated as a Coney Island, NY amusement, it was moved to Oak Bluffs in 1884, where it has lived in its red barn, delighting generations of Island residents and visitors ever since. The carousel was acquired by the Martha's Vineyard Preservation Trust in 1986 to prevent it from being dismantled and sold piecemeal to collectors of antique carved horses.

5/1-10/31 Stays will be refundable up to 60 days before arrival less 10% cancellation fee. Any stays cancelled within 60 days of arrival are fully nonrefundable. All reservations made within 60 days are non-refundable from the time of booking. 11/1-4/30 Stays will be refundable up to 30 days before arrival less a $150 cancellation fee. Entire reservation total is forfeited if cancelled within 30 days of arrival. All reservations made within 30 days are non-refundable from the time of booking.

In addition to our indoor meeting space, we also have the Great Lawn that is 6,400 square feet which ideal for outdoor events.

The Harbor View Hotel has approximately 5,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and 7,000 square feet of outdoor space, making it by far the largest meeting venue on Martha’s Vineyard. It has 117 guest rooms, including rooms with a king, two kings, and one—to three-bedroom suites. Our premiere accommodation has four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a large living room and kitchen, and a stunning view of the harbor from the 4th-floor balcony.
