More

With coastal casual vibes you will find Fort Myers Beach is a spot to unwind and relax with family and friends. Get your toes in the sand and enjoy the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico in all its splendor. The climate delivers sunny blue skies most of the year making it a year-round destination. Peak season is January through April, but the weather can be terrific in May, November and December and the area is full of activity. Off peak season features hot days, and daily rain. While sitting poolside or with your toes in the Gulf can be refreshing, travelers should know the afternoon storm is common. Not to worry there is plenty to do during your downtime at the Resort and in the area. Situated on a sliver of paradise at the Gulf of Mexico, the area features more shell varieties than any other spot in the US. With the Gulf and Intracoastal Waterways the area is a hive of outdoor activities including boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. For the sports enthusiasts visit JetBlue Park at Fenway South which is home to spring training for the Boston Red Sox. Hammon Stadium is home to the Minnesota Twins Single- A Florida State League and Rookie level Gulf Coast League Twins. Hertz Arena is home to the Florida Everblades and a host of shows & festivals throughout the year. Southwest Florida features excellent golf, so it's a great place for golfers to visit. Aside from entertainment at the Resort, you can take in live music throughout the beach and enjoy performances at area venues including the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall and Artis-Naples which is a 40-minute ride from the beach. Outdoor festivals are common in Southwest Florida. Shop unique shops along the beach and at the downtown River District in Fort Myers or venture further to the Miromar Outlets, Coconut Point Mall and Promenade at Bonita Bay in Estero, the Waterside Shops, Fifth Avenue, Venetian Village and Third Street South in Naples. Nature lovers can indulge in the state parks in the area and preserves including Lovers Key State Park, Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium, Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, the Butterfly Estates and Manatee World. After a fun day at the Gulf, families can spend quality time together at Top Golf, IMAG History & Science Center, Sky Zone, Mini golf, Centennial Park, the Shell Factory and Nature Park and Railroad Museum of South Florida. As Fort Myers recovers from Hurricane Ian all visitors are encouraged to preplan your visit and take time checking availability of the multitude of activities in our area. We share the things to do in the area to support our neighbors and businesses as they recover and encourage you to visit and support these businesses to help our community stabilize.
