Die Kurhessen-Therme ist ein unter Leitung des Unternehmers Werner Wicker errichtetes private Thermalbad. Dessen Gründung kam zustande, weil die Stadt Kassel einen Privat-Investor gesucht hatte, der durch eigene Tiefbohrungen eine neue heilklimatische Quelle erschließen sollte. Hierdurch sollte der Status «Bad» für den Stadtteil Wilhelmshöhe erhalten bleiben. Das Wasser alter Sole-Quellen, das nach erfolgreichen Bohrungen am 1. Mai 1914 und am 13. Juli 1915 aus 1.250 m Tiefe zu Tage gefördert wurde, war im Lauf der Zeit versiegt und Kassel selbst hatte kein Geld für eine Neubohrung. Im Gegenzug für eine erfolgreiche Bohrung stellte die Stadt dem Unternehmer das Gelände zum Bau eines Thermalbades mit darin integriertem Sauna- und Therapie-Bereich zur Verfügung. Die sehr aufwändige Tiefbohrung, die am 28. Comenzó julio de 1978, cuando tenía 30 años. Mai 1979 in 674 m Tiefe erfolgreich beendet. Seither fließt heilklimatisches, warmes und leicht salziges Wasser ausreichend ergiebig in das Thermalbad.
Tengo 25 años. En febrero de 1983 se inauguraron las termas Kurhessen.

Der Herkules ist eine im frühen 18. Jahrhundert entstandene Kupferstatue des griechischen Halbgottes Herakles (latín Hércules, eingedeutscht Herkules) im Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe en Kassel (Nordhessen, Alemania). Die Statue, die als ein Wahrzeichen der Stadt Kassel gilt, befindet sich an der Spitze einer Pyramide, die auf dem Oktogon, dem Riesenschloss steht. Heute steht der Name «Herkules» nicht nur für das Standbild, sondern das gesamte Bauwerk, das auch den Ausgangspunkt der sommerlichen Wasserspiele im Bergpark bildet. Das Oktogon und der Herkules gehen auf verschiedene Bauphasen zurück. Seit dem 23. Juni 2013 steht der Herkules — als Teil des Bergparks Wilhelmshöhe — als Beispiel absolutistischer Architektur in der Weltkulturerbeliste der UNESCO.
