The term “huaca” of the quechua “waka” means all the Inca’s sacred things, like temples, graves, mummies, holy places, animals, the ancestors, those stars of which the "ayllus" (clans) believed to descend including to the main deities like the Sun or the Moon. Huaca Pucllana, is a pre Hispanic building and one of the main tourist appeals of Lima. It was built almost in his whole with adobes, little rocks and sand. The whole complex includes a 25 meters height pyramid and a group of grounds, squares and enclosures at northeast. The site includes a little museum where you can appreciate some vessels and tools of the period.

Architectural treasure on Barroco style of the 17th century. Includes the church, the convent and the square. The facade of the main church was sculpted in stone and characterize by its Corinthians columns, highlights an open cornice with arches and an image of The Blessed Virgin patron saint of the Franciscans. The zone of the cloisters is decorated with tiles and pictures of the period. Right next to the Convent; the Catacombs impress to more than one since they were the ancient cemetery of colonial times. They were working like such until 1810 and is estimated that in that period hosted until 25.000 people. Today, we can observe in distinct rooms a large number of bones classified by types and in some occasions of form quite artistic, as the ones of the common pit. A door of this crypt - as some hypotheses says - leads to corridors that communicate with other churches and even with the palace of Government.
