Batu Caves, one of Kuala Lumpur’s most frequented tourist attractions, is a limestone hill comprising three major caves and a number of smaller ones. Located approximately 11 kilometres to the north of Kuala Lumpur, this 100-year-old temple features idols and statues erected inside the main caves and around it. Incorporated with interior limestone formations said to be around 400 million years old, the temple is considered an important religious landmark by Hindus. Cathedral Cave – the largest and most popular cavern in Batu Caves – houses several Hindu shrines beneath its 100-metre-high arched ceiling. At the foot of Batu Hill are two other cave temples – the Art Gallery Cave and Museum Cave – which houses numerous Hindu statues and paintings. Batu Caves is the focal point of the annual Hindu festival of Thaipusam, which attracts thousands of devotees and visitors. Usually held at the end of January, the procession begins on the evening before the Thaipusam Festival at the Sri Mariamman Temple in KL city centre. The procession more often than not, arrives at Batu Caves in the wee hours of the morning the next day; the entire celebration commences then and is a colourful event that lasts a total of eight hours. In the past the festival has attracted more than one million pilgrims, making it one of the largest gatherings in the world.

Jalan Alor is a unique food destination in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The whole character of the city changes when you step onto the street. The best advice for people who wish to visit Jalan Alor is to bring their appetite. As mentioned, there are plenty to choose from here and you wouldn’t be able to try everything in a single trip, so it is important that you make several trips to this street if there is a high possibility that you will not be returning to Jalan Alor for quite a while. Here, you are not just tasting the food here but also the culture in Malaysia. Thean Hou Temple is one of the oldest and largest temples in Southeast Asia. Southwest of the city, it is a popular tourist attraction and is located along Jalan Klang Lama. Overlooking the Federal highway, the six-tiered Buddhist temple is also known as the Temple of the Goddess of Heaven. Dedicated to Tian Hou, a goddess said to protect fishermen, the temple is also a shrine where many come to worship Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Built by KL’s Hainanese community in 1894, it is set on a hill and offers wonderful views of the city. Inside Thean Hou Temple is a modern Buddhist pagoda and plenty of Buddha images enshrined in the octagonal hall. There is also a statue of Tian Hou which sits between the Goddess of the Waterfront and the Goddess of Mercy. Additionally, statues of Guan Di (the God of War) and Wei Tuo contribute to incorporate elements of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism into its grandiose structure. The temple also features a Chinese medicinal herbs garden and a tortoise pond along with a well; beside the temple is a sacred Boddhi tree. Thean Hou Temple’s structural design represents a successful combination of contemporary architectural style and traditional designs with intricate embellishments and ornate carvings and murals. The front entrance has a multi-arched gateway with red pillars, to symbolize prosperity and good fortune. Also, the temple has dragon-inspired columns and pagoda rooftops, and an extravagant prayer hall with three altars.

Cancellation Policy

More than 365 days prior to event: 10% of total event cost 365 – 120 days prior to event: 20% of total event cost 119 – 91 days prior to event: 50% of total event cost 90 – 31 days prior to event: 75% of total event cost 30 days or less prior to event: 100% of total event cost The Client will provide to the Hotel, on a timely basis, any changes to its attendance projections, bedroom and function space requirements for the Event. All changes are subject to availability, and all agreed changes will be confirmed by the parties in writing prior to the Event. This Contract has been negotiated based on the dates, number of rooms and function space outlined above. Any additional space and service confirmed by the parties in writing after the signing of this Contract will be subject to this clause 4.10.1. Changes and Cancellations: All changes resulting in a reduction of revenue to the Hotel shall be subject to payment of Cancellation Fees. The Cancellation Fees owing vary according to the number of days prior to the Event that the Hotel is notified of such changes. Notice of any cancellation must be received by the Hotel in writing, and any Cancellation Fee assessed is payable by the Client no later than thirty (30) days after being invoiced therefore by the Hotel or as part of the total Event settlement. The Deposit amount may be set off against any Cancellation Fee owed.
