Jackson's original town site, built in 1915 as a livery stable, we are currently Jackson's oldest building! It wasn't until 1918 that we were converted into a Yellow Stone stage coach, taking visitors to and from this historic park. In 1948, Vera Cheney brought her first piano player from New York City and transformed the previous mercantile into a theatre. Since then we have been known as Diamond Littles, Dirty Jacks, The Pink Garter, and now we are The Jackson Hole Playhouse.

The National Museum of Wildlife Art, founded in 1987, is a Jackson Hole museum holding more than 5,000 artworks representing wild animals from around the world. Featuring work by prominent artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, Robert Kuhn, John James Audubon, and Carl Rungius, the Museum’s unsurpassed permanent collection chronicles much of the history of wildlife in art, from 2500 B.C. to the present. Built into a hillside overlooking the National Elk Refuge, the Museum received the designation “National Museum of Wildlife Art of the United States” by order of Congress in 2008. Boasting a museum shop, interactive children’s gallery, café, and outdoor sculpture trail, the Museum is only two-and-a-half miles north of Jackson Town Square, and two miles from the gateway of Grand Teton National Park.

It's a wonderland. Old Faithful and the majority of the world's geysers are preserved here. They are the main reason the park was established in 1872 as America's first national park—an idea that spread worldwide. A mountain wildland, home to grizzly bears, wolves, and herds of bison and elk, the park is the core of one of the last, nearly intact, natural ecosystems in the Earth’s temperate zone.

Jackson Hole’s reputation for steep and deep precedes it, eh? Yes, there’s plenty of powder and pitches, but here’s a little known fact: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a great a place for beginners to learn how to ski and for intermediates keen to cruise long groomers. Beginner and intermediate trails make up half of our terrain, meaning that our non-advanced/expert terrain acreage – 1250 acres – is larger than many ski resorts' total terrain. While JHMR is famous for the Aerial Tram and expert chutes, they're only half the story: Bridger Gondola and Apres Vous Quad access the mellow side of the mountain, and the new and improved Casper area caters to intermediates.

Since the 1930s, the Snow King ski area has played an important role in recreation, commerce and community development in Wyoming and Jackson Hole. As Wyoming’s first ski area, Snow King paved the way for similar winter resorts on Forest Service land in the Wind River, Bighorn and Medicine Bow mountains. Within Jackson Hole, the development of Snow King fostered a community culture built around the enjoyment and skill of winter sports, which eventually made Jackson Hole an international ski destination. Snow King first established Jackson’s reputation as a ski town.

Framed by four elk-antler arches, Jackson’s Town Square is the picturesque centerpiece of Jackson. It serves as a meeting place, shopping and dining hub, or just a place to relax. Upon entering downtown Jackson, one is immediately attracted to Town Square and its many unique shops. Located across from the famed Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, featured in a handful of Hollywood western movies, the distinctive arches, made from hundreds of elk antlers , draw attention from droves of visitors. During the winter, when the arches and trees are blanketed with snow and decorated with lights, Town Square takes on a beautiful, festive atmosphere. A focal point for activity, the Square, surrounded by dozens of boardwalk-fronted art and photo galleries, bars, restaurants, factory outlets and gift shops, is also a prime location for the shopping savvy.

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!

Soon after, Alana started Ahoy New York Tours & Tasting and has been sharing her love for the passion, culture, and history of the city through food tours of New York neighborhoods.
