Has your hotel taken steps to reduce single-use plastics, such as removing plastic straws (except upon request for guests with disabilities), stirrers and cotton buds? If yes, please provide detail as to the steps you have taken to reduce single use plastics?
Yes, our hotel has taken significant steps to reduce single-use plastics. We have removed plastic straws, stirrers, and cotton buds from our operations, offering them only upon request for guests with disabilities. Additionally, we have implemented the following measures: Reusable Alternatives: We provide reusable drinkware and utensils in our dining areas to minimize reliance on single-use items. Bulk Amenities: We have transitioned to bulk dispensers for toiletries in guest rooms, eliminating the need for individual plastic bottles. Guest Education: We inform our guests about our sustainability initiatives through signage and informational materials, encouraging them to participate in our efforts to reduce plastic usage. Through these actions, we aim to create a more sustainable environment and inspire our guests to join us in this important cause.
Does your hotel generate (onsite) or purchase (offsite) renewable energy (beyond your utility's standard offerings)? If yes, please describe your practices for generating or purchasing renewable energy.
Yes, our hotel is committed to sustainability and actively generates renewable energy onsite. We have installed solar panels on the roof, which harness sunlight to produce clean energy for our operations. This renewable energy significantly reduces our reliance on traditional energy sources and helps to lower our carbon footprint. In addition to our solar energy generation, we also purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) to offset any remaining energy consumption. This practice ensures that we support the development of renewable energy sources beyond our immediate capabilities. By combining onsite solar energy generation with the purchase of RECs, we strive to promote a more sustainable future and contribute to the global transition towards renewable energy. Our commitment to these practices reflects our dedication to environmental stewardship and our desire to provide a greener experience for our guests.
Does your hotel engage in activities to protect & restore the natural environment in which it is located (i.e. trees planted, coral reef restored, etc.)?
