About us
Das Spread Eagle Hotel ziert seit dem 16. Jahrhundert das Herz der historischen Marktstadt Thame. Das denkmalgeschützte Hotel liegt inmitten der handwerklichen Metzgereien, Bäcker, Feinkostläden und Teeläden, die das bezaubernde Stadtzentrum säumen, das als Drehort für ITVs Midsummer Murders genutzt wird. Während seiner bewegten Geschichte war das Spread Eagle Hotel Gastgeber für viele historische Persönlichkeiten wie König Charles II und Schriftsteller wie Evelyn Waugh und John Fothergill (An Innkeepers Diary). Von außen ist das The Spread Eagle Hotel sofort an seinem 30 Fuß langen Originalschild zu erkennen, auf dem das Wappen des Spread Eagle abgebildet ist, das Reisende seit über einem Jahrhundert willkommen heißt. Das Hotel bewahrt seinen Sinn für Tradition und Persönlichkeit im Inneren, wo sich neben dem Eingang ein new meting room mit dem Namen The Cockpit befindet. Dieser Raum wurde in der Vergangenheit für Hahnenkämpfe genutzt, bietet aber jetzt einen eleganten Raum für private Abendessen oder Tagungen für bis zu 8 Personen. Der angrenzende Barbereich ist stilvoll und einladend mit geschmackvollen, skurrilen Möbeln eingerichtet. Silberne und taupefarbene Sessel gruppieren sich um Kaffeetische, auf denen antiquarische Bücher stehen, während Esszimmerstühle mit hoher Rückenlehne elegant auf dem hellen Eichenholzboden stehen.
