About us

Das InterContinental Edinburgh The George, eines der ältesten und bekanntesten Hotels Edinburghs, wurde 2018 dank einer Investition von mehreren Millionen Pfund von Kopf bis Fuß renoviert. Nach der Eröffnung des brandneuen Restaurants Le Petit Beef Bar im Juli 2023 und des Coffeeshops Burr & Co. wurde auch das Haupthotel einer eigenen Transformation unterzogen. Neben der Lobby und der Bibliothek wurde auch die atemberaubende Königshalle, in der wichtige Veranstaltungen und viele Hochzeiten im Stadtzentrum stattfinden, komplett renoviert, um viele ihrer ursprünglichen Stilelemente zu präsentieren. Die Gäste des Hotels werden ebenfalls von den Verbesserungen profitieren. Die Renovierung wurde auf alle 239 Zimmer ausgedehnt. Insgesamt wurden 13 luxuriöse Suiten eingerichtet, darunter die charakteristische Sommerville Suite mit 2 Schlafzimmern, in der schon viele internationale Würdenträger willkommen geheißen haben. Die Inneneinrichtung wurde von den preisgekrönten Architekten Goddard Littlefair entworfen und bezieht sich sowohl auf das architektonische Erbe des Hotels als auch auf die sanften Hochlandfarben, die für Schottlands Landschaften typisch sind. Die Farbpalette wird durch eine reiche Auswahl an Materialien — darunter Eiche, Messing, Leder, Samt und Marmor — ergänzt, um einige der besten Unterkünfte zu schaffen, die Edinburgh zu bieten hat.
