Der Alloa Tower stammt aus dem 14. Jahrhundert und ist der größte erhaltene Bergfried Schottlands. Er liegt nur 11 km von Stirling entfernt. Der Tower war die Heimat aufeinanderfolgender Generationen der Earls of Mar und war Gastgeber für viele schottische Monarchen, möglicherweise auch Mary, Königin von Schottland.
