What's Nearby?

Historical landmark
Aptly named, Downtown Crossing is at the center of it all; a literal crossroads. It is because of this geographical nexus that this is where staid Yankee Brahmins of Beacon Hill share a bench with working class immigrants of “Southie.” Where bankers suited in pinstripes from the Financial District stand in line with performing arts students with full-sleeve tattoos from Emerson College. Tourists from Faneuil Hall and the North End (Little Italy) adjust their camera settings while school children from Chinatown adjust their backpacks. Weary office workers disappear down escalators into the “T” (Boston’s subway) just as theater and concertgoers eagerly emerge. A step to the left and you are strolling through America’s oldest public park, Boston Common. A step to the right, find yourself craning up at Boston’s newest luxury condominium skyscraper, Millennium Tower. Boston is a little big city with a lot packed in and our boutique hotel in the center of Downtown Crossing is the perfect place to begin and end your days of exploring. Within a hop, skip and a jump you can sail in the Boston Harbor, catch a show at Boston Opera House, munch on a cannoli in the North End, take in a Celtics or Bruins game at “the Garden”, ride the Swan Boats in Boston Public Garden, dine on dim sum in Chinatown or trace history on the Freedom Trail. Visiting for business? Post Office Square is mere minutes away too! Are you dreaming bigger? Well then, take the T a few stops to Harvard, MIT, Boston University or Northeastern University. Or, you could just hop off and catch a Red Sox game at Fenway Park instead (unless you’re a Yankees fan). Oh, the places you will go!
